Founding Principles Behind

 T.E.P.E. Training Institute

1.      To maximize effectiveness a Parenting Educator one must continuously focus on maintaining core knowledge while improving teaching skills, curricula, & innovative methodologies.

2.      It is no longer acceptable to relegate pre-service or advanced training for parenting educators to a “hit or miss” mentality.

3.      It is our goal to encourage, support, and educate Parenting Educators so that they will, in turn, be better prepared to assist clients as they develop individual potentials, identify and effectively deal with problems in the family, and prevent new ones from occurring.

4.      The supervision of Parenting Educators is absolutely necessary and achievable even within the smallest human service agency.

5.      It is not desirable nor is it any longer professionally responsible to promote parenting education without establishing standards in core content and performance.

6.      Parenting Educators should not be expected to work in isolation or without collegial supports and networks.

7.      Work with families through the fields of education, human services, medicine and mental health would each improve in their goal to support families if they were to seek and effectively deploy knowledge specific to parenting education.

Parenting education should be available and be capable of providing significant benefit  to all families regardless of the age or condition of the parent or the child(ren).
